The picture says it all. We went hiking in the Superstition mountains a few months ago with a group from work.

Graduation

I graduated from Arizona State University on December 15th. Sure looking forward to a little break from school. Call it the deep breath before the plunge, if you will. :-)

Tennessee, here we come

Okay, first of all, in case anyone out there still hasn't heard yet, we got into East Tennessee State University.
Yay! Also, we took a whirlwind trip out there over the Veterans day weekend and closed on a house. Yay again! And yes, this is a picture of the house.

It's a three bedroom, two bath with galley kitchen, wrap around porch and large unfinished basement. We like it a lot and the price was right.

Also, it's five minutes from campus and in a nice neighborhood with a park right near by. We couldn't ask for more, (except to live closer to all of you!)

So it looks like we'll be heading out there after Christmas. We'll keep you better posted this time!

I got into medical school!

Dr. Rose from the University of Miami at Boca Raton, FL called me today to congratulate me on my acceptance to the school. We will be considering this offer as well as a few more (hopefully) forthcoming offers, but I'm very excited. Will continue to keep you posted.

Priceless Moment

In case anyone couldn't tell, Benjamin really likes his toys.

Isaac Phil Day 8lbs 12 oz

We got the chance to go see little Isaac a little later in the day after he was born at 5:53 am. He is just the cutest little guy ever! (Next to Benjamin of course) :) Benjamin's reign as the youngest grandchild was short lived, but well spent. Welcome to the family Isaac!

The countdown begins!

This was taken at Grandma Sapp's house (care of Grandma Sapp) of Shannon, Jerris and Shelly just a couple of weeks before little Isaac Phil Day was born! Jerris was down here in Phoenix to see our cousins Nina (who lives in Tucson), Cruz, and Christine's high school graduations! Congratulations guys!

Cool Dude

"I'm so cool!" -Benjamin

I was just thinking about Shelly and Benjamin tonight and missing them so I decided to look through some more recent pictures and find another good one to post. There are so many like this. Benjamin has a great smile and a mild disposition. He really is a wonderful baby. I was surprised when Shelly told me today that Grandma Heaton thinks his first tooth coming in. It's too soon for that! Can't he just stay a little baby forever? Being a parent can be scary, even when it's just a first tooth.
Our search for childcare is beginning in earnest. I have already asked a few people about the possibility of helping us. Shelly is going to start working full time at Dad's office and we will need someone to watch Benjamin all day for the three weeks before my classes end. Then it won't be so bad; I'm quiting my job at Banner Desert Hospital on May 2oth so that I can devote myself to full time school and graduate a semester early in December. Should work out for the best. I can be at home with Benjamin for part of the day and play Mr. Mom.
That's your update for now. Adios.

Cutest baby EVER

He is the cutest baby EVER! Very happy too! This picture was taken while Shelly and I were up in Hurricane, UT visiting her family. Her brother Jon and sister Sharice are both getting married Easter weekend. Unfortunately, I have to stay home in Phoenix to take the MCAT. :-(

Here's Shelly helping Sharice try on her wedding dress. Sharice is displaying the classic "deer in the headlights" look of a bride-to-be. Let's just hope she doesn't run away!

Puddin' pop

Here's our little "Puddin' pop", as we like to call him. I can't tell you exactly why, but that nickname seems like such a good fit for him at this stage. Of course, Pumpkin (or "punkin", as I like to say it) is another good one. Sometimes Shelly just calls him "Puddin". I hope that he doesn't grow up thinking that is his real name!

More sleepy time in one of Benjamin's favorite spots: the baby swing!

Incidentally, this is how he looked in the womb. To see 3-D ultrasound pictures of Benjamin's Uncle David and Aunt Sofia, visit Dad's Fetal and Women's website.

Where it all began...

Welcome to the Family

Welcome family, friends, and guests to the Nyberg Family blog, the first and only site dedicated exclusively to the recent happenings of Brian, Shellianne, and Benjamin Nyberg . Yep, that's our happy little family. As this is our first foray into the universe of web design, we ask for your patience with us, lowly amateur bloggers that we are. We cannot promise the most exciting web site you ever visit. But we can promise that we will do our best to keep our site updated with pictures, quips, and a general slice of our lives. And in the process, we'll try not to bore you to tears. Check back soon and we may have more baby pictures, humor, movie reviews, job updates, and a dissertation on quantum theory. Okay, so it’s a little optimistic. But come back anyway! Sincerely, Brian.
