And I wonder why I can never keep my house picked up!

Brian has been back in school for a few weeks now and I've been adjusting to having him gone again. The boys are adjusting in their usual way (getting into as much trouble as possible). Time is just flying by. Ben is 2 1/2 and Jeffrey is 15 1/2 months old now. Jeffrey has FINALLY started walking just this last couple of weeks. I always wondered what was taking him so long until I saw what happened every time he tried to walk. I guess Ben isn't thrilled about the idea of Jeffrey being able to keep up with him, so every time Jeffrey starts walking Ben jumps on the opportunity to knock him down. Ahhhh brotherly love. :) Somehow Jeffrey has overcome that opposition and is getting around everywhere now. Unfortunately the only video I have of him walking right now is a video where Ben is throwing a tantrum, but Brian and I thought it was hillarious how Jeffrey was showing off his cool Cookie Monster slippers in front of Ben (the slippers used to be his). Of course Ben is insanely jealous. Enjoy! -Shelly-

It's been funny to see how Jeffrey is old enough now to start tormenting Ben the way that Ben torments him by taking his favorite things and not letting him play with toys. This is the start of a whole new world for us with disciplining. I keep thinking that Jeffrey's too little to be capable of tormenting his brother, but I'm slowly finding out that this just isn't true.

Yay! I finally got new batteries for the camera just in time for our trip to Atlanta!

Okay, so here are a few pictures from before the battery died in the camera (a little further down). We also had the opportunity to make an over night trip to Atlanta, Georgia without our kids. We had a blast! Our friends Gabby and Jerry watched the boys for us overnight at their condo (thank you sooo much!!!). Brian and I haven't been overnight without the boys since they were born (at least not that I can remember). We went to Atlanta to support our friend Janell Logan from church who was going through the LDS temple for the first time. We just happened to make a second honeymoon-type trip out of it as well. It was so nice to not stop the car because of a crying baby or messy diaper. We ate at a nice restaurant after we arrived at 9:30pm where Brian had lobster tail and fresh Chilean bass with (virgin) daceries and pina coladas. He was in heaven!!!! It was VERY nice to spoil ourselves. Unfortunately I didn't bring the camera in with us when we went to the restaurant so we don't have any pictures of that. To sum it up, it was 24 hours of heaven on earth for these two exausted parents! Enjoy the pictures! P.S. Okay, it has been WAY too long since I've posted something on here. In my defense I've been waiting until I can post pictures. Unfortunately right now our camera battery is dead and I need to go get a charger for it still. Things just keep coming up, so many cute things have happened that I haven't had my camera for, I definately miss it.

A quick congratulations to Derek and Sharice for their new addition, Kael!

We've had a few "interesting" moments around here lately since Brian started back at school again. It seems like everything has to happen at once instead of one thing at a time. We had our friends Emily and Dave Wilhite move into the basement. It has been really nice having them live down there, especially when one of us needs to run to the store quickly and doesn't want to wake a baby up! Unfortunately since they've moved in, we've had some things that have needed to be fixed (i.e. the refrigerator that doesn't freeze or freezes too much,the dishwasher that wouldn't drain). They've been such good sports about being our guinee pigs in the new basement!

The most recent thing is that we had sewage backing up into their bathroom every time they ran their washing machine during the draining cycle. I know, so gross!!!! Luckily it was not a problem that was a result of us not doing the plumbing right, evidently our pipes outside had some MAJOR problems though. We had to get the city sewage guys out here with a backhoe to dig up our backyard and fix some broken pipes that caused HUGE amounts of tree roots to grow into the main city line. Luckily they didn't charge us, but it sure was an adventure! They accidently cut the main cable line running through our yard during the process so a few of our neighbors were without their cable and internet yesterday. It is FINALLY fixed and we can relax again just in time for Brian and Jeffrey to get sick. :) Things are looking up now that we don't have any plumbing emergencies staring us in the face. We borrowed our neighbor's camera for pictures of the backhoe and the broken pipes, I just need to get them uploaded, so pictures of our plumbing disaster are soon to come! The Nyberg family welcomes Mathilde

Congratulations are in order for Ciara and Dad. Ciara gave birth to Mathilde (pronounced Mah-til-dah) weighing 6 lbs 1.5 oz on Friday, August 1st. Here are some pictures of the happy family.

Shelly has been doing a wonderful job with the blog. I appreciate all of you who come to check in with our family and keep us posted with your own websites. We wish we could be closer, but this is the next best thing.

Tomorrow I start my 2nd year of medical school. I think it will feel slower than the summer after all the work we've done on the house! We look forward to the school year ahead of us and all of the changes it will bring, including a new addition to our own family.
