Pioneer Day and Downtown Jonesborough
Here are some pictures of what we've been up to lately (now that we're not rushing to finish the basement). We went to a church activity for Pioneer day where they had tons of great food, performances, and swimming! For some reason I only took pictures of the swimming. Last Monday we took a family outing out to downtown Jonesborough to look at some of the shops and play at a small park we discovered a while back. Also I took some pictures last week while we were lounging around the house and Jeffrey had a stomach virus that wasn't very much fun. Enjoy looking at pictures that aren't just of our basement! -Shelly- p.s. I accidently lost our baby name poll when I changed the template again (doh!). I don't think I'll put it up again, the last time I checked Megan Kimberly was still ahead with Megan Sue not far behind and surprisingly Megan Samantha has been quite popular as well lately!
Jeffrey had a 24 hour stomach virus that we didn't want to spread around church so he got to stay home with Mommy.

Before and After pictures!
Okay, so for everyone that wanted to see just exactly how much work had to be done to finish our basement I've decided to dig up the old pictures and show you some before and after shots. These will be the last pictures I post on our blog of the basement beings that the Wilhite's moved in on Saturday and I will not be taking anymore pictures of the basement which is their home now. :) We are officially DONE with this project and hopefully will be done with "projects" like this for a LONG time. Our next "smaller" project will be painting and re-decorating the boys' new room and baby Megan's future room....pictures to come whenever we get around it. Thanks for taking an interest in our crazy projects and lives! -Shelly-

The Poll
Okay, so I've had some requests (I'll let you guess who did the requesting) to have two more choices on our poll of names for the new baby. I apologize to everyone that already voted, you may vote again, I had to delete the poll and create a new one to modify it. There is no voters registration to vote on our blog, it is just on the honor system that everyone will vote only once (unless of course you're voting for Megan Sue!). Happy voting! -Shelly-

The much anticipated pictures of the basement!
Okay, so I finally went downstairs and decided I didn't care that it wasn't cleaned up down there, I was going to take some pictures to show everyone what we've been working on all summer long. Painting has already began, and there are a few odds and ends to finish up here and there, but overall, you can really see what it's going to look like, so enjoy! Just a side note-all of the flooring down there except for the two bedrooms is tile thanks to the detriment of Grandpa Mike's knees and back I'm sure. It turned out just lovely, thanks Grandma Jan for letting us steal Grandpa Mike from you! He did an EXCELLENT job!
New Blog template and more pictures from Grandpa Mike's visit.
Well I've officially been welcomed into the creative blog background club. I changed it once and then decided I didn't like the colors, then I changed it to this purple template. I think I'll leave it this way for a while. Grandpa Mike is now gone and we miss him already! We had such a great time while he was here and hope he made it back safe! Having any family visit is just so nice, we miss everyone so much. Here are a couple of pictures from our last few days with him. Just a side note, I know I've announced that the new baby will be named Megan Kimberly Nyberg, but I've since decided that I like the name Megan Sue Nyberg. I like both names almost equally as well and of course Brian still thinks Megan Kimberly is the better choice, so I'd like to leave it up to the good people out there that check our blog. I'm posting a poll for everyone to vote on, so be sure and vote! Thanks! -Shelly-

My silly boys and Grandpa Mike comes to visit!!!!
Here are a couple of recent pictures of the boys just being themselves along with Jeffrey's "Ode to Dadda" video. Grandpa Mike got here Monday afternoon around 4:30pm and he left Castle Valley, Utah around 10am Sunday morning! Great time!!!! We weren't quite ready for him, but got ready quick enough. He is here to help carry us to the finishline of our finished basement marathon. It's been really great having family here and he and Brian are working hard to finish as soon as possible. Ben keeps waking up in the morning and looking at Mike as if to say "oh, you're going to be here a while huh?" He's got lots of words for Grandpa Mike and Jeffrey has been showing off his masterfull eating skills. Anyway, here are some pictures of the men working in the basement and a few of the missionaries from when they were helping us finish sanding the dry-wall. Last, but certainly not least, Ben wanted to make Grammy Jan a card to tell her that he misses her. We can't wait to see you in November Grammy!!!
Happy 4th of July!
We had a fun filled 4th of July, Brian and I spent a lot of it sanding dry-wall and putting primer on the walls of our NEARLY FINISHED basement. After we got cleaned up we headed out to Science Hill High School to go watch the 4th of July celebration/fireworks. The boys had a blast eating kettle corn, I played Phase10 with some friends and Brian almost got to go play some football, but got lost instead. We had another "you know you're in East Tennessee" moment while we were there. About 20 minutes before the fireworks were going to start, they had a band on the stage and the announcer announced that everyone needed to stand up and show some respect by taking their hats off for "our" National Anthem. Well....in East Tennessee they sing the national anthem a little "funny." Of course by funny, they mean they sing the song "Rocky Top Tennessee" which happens to be the University of Tennessee fight song. It was pretty funny. Anyway, a great time was had by all and the fireworks were AMAZING.
